Grief and Loss & Somatic Psychotherapy

Grief, loss, trauma, stress—these are not things that happen only in our minds.

They live in our bodies. They show up in the way we breathe, how we hold tension, how we sleep, relate, love, or protect ourselves. Somatic psychotherapy works by helping you reconnect with your body as a source of wisdom, healing, and resilience.

No matter who you are, this therapy invites you to listen deeply to your body in a way that is culturally respectful, slow, and trauma-informed.

What Happens in Somatic Therapy?

The first step is building a sense of emotional and bodily safety. It means feeling supported enough to stay present with yourself without being overwhelmed. Lette works gently, always at your pace, with full consent. Safety includes cultural safety—being seen, heard, and affirmed in your identity and lived experience.

Through guided attention, we begin to map where emotional experiences live in your body and what they may be asking for.

Together, we explore what helps you feel more grounded, connected, and steady.

These practices help regulate the nervous system, bringing you out of fight/flight/freeze and into a more balanced, relational state.
